Gold Rush: Last Burst of Sunshine

If you are anything like us, you couldn't help but feel completely surrounded by the amazing feeling of accomplishment. Great Britain has had a record performance during London 2012, and we all feel proud. We feel proud to be from here, not only because our athletes have performed outstandingly, but because Great Britain has done it! And we were there to see it! The ups and downs, the tears, the joy, the pain, we watched, we followed, for the first time in history, everyone felt a part even if you were miles away, social networking sites brought us closer together than ever.

Here at Bubble Tea House Company, we have been inspired. We want to be the very best we can be. Athletes around the World have shown us that when you put your mind to something, you can make it happen (even if you don't win Gold, a PB counts as much). And just like them, we know that the stars of the show are what they are because of their raw talent, because of hard work but also because of the great team they have behind them, supporting them as they reach for gold. We cannot wait to be that team for you. We cannot wait to do the best we can to help you on your Bubble Tea business quest. We can help you achieve your goals!

In the meantime, because we have been inspired with all the golden glitter and because we know that summer is coming to an end, we created our last burst of sunshine Bubble Tea. We have done market research and we have found that 48/50 have absolutely loved the taste of this drink. The two that weren't too keen on it was because they aren't very fond of cold drinks, we have to hold our hands up to that reason!

It's very easy to make, and you too can wow your customers with this dazzling creation.

They are coming... The World is coming!

Football fever has come and gone (well done boys! Amazing performances out there, and Congratulations to Spain!)...

Wimbledon has reached semi-final/quarter final stages, finals are just around the corner. Which means, the games are almost here!

What does this mean to you?

In a personal level, the games will be an amazing experience. As the torch passes from town to town the flame of expectation gets more and more contagious and soon enough everybody will be in a pool of sport, support and fun. If you are in areas surrounding host venues, this escalates to a buzz that flows through the streets right into you, whether you want to or not! Outside of this circle everybody will receive bits of the tidal wave of excitement. Undoubtedly, everybody will be touched!

But... what about businesses? In order to understand better what it means to businesses and what it could mean to you, I set out to ask three Vancouverites (Andrew, Elizabeth and Yols),  about their experience during the last games (Winter Games in Vancouver 2010) I asked them a few questions hoping to get to the core of their experience:

Interview of experiences during the Winter Olympic Games, Vancouver 2010:

What role did you play/what were you doing during the Winter Games?
Yols: "Me and my partner, Elizabeth, were directly involved in running and operating a couple of small businesses. One was located in a hospital area and the other in a high traffic, tourist part of the city.
Andrew: I in charge of one of the Olympic shops within a major department store (part of a large organisation)."

What kind of small businesses were they?
Elizabeth: "Food. High quality international food, drinks and shop."

For the small businesses, how were you affected by the games?
Elizabeth"One of our shops/restaurants was located outside of the main areas. We actually saw no change at all. If anything, we saw less people coming in as they were going elsewhere.
As for the one shop/restaurant that was more centrally located (but not quite downtown), we did see an increase in sales.

This increase, how significant was it? Did it meet your expectations?
Yols: "Originally when you hear that these events are coming to your town you think that there is going to be a huge increase of sales. You are told by the media and government that this is an amazing opportunity for all businesses and that you will benefit from it directly".
Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Although we did see an increase in sales, we did not see as much as the media predicted.
Elizabeth: "But to be honest we were ready for this, we knew that in Venues and selected viewing areas, only sponsors can be represented, and people are quite lazy! Which means, if it's not within their walking path, they will not even cross the street!"
Yols: "So with all this in mind, we got ready. We got ready to expect more than normal but not nearly as much as the media set it out to be!"

Do you think this will be the case for the London games?
Elizabeth: "Somewhat but not really. I think that London is going to be very different. This city is crazy and very busy during summer months. The games will only make it even busier. There's also so many boroughs in London that it will be more spread out. Vancouver is more centralised, there's a downtown area and everything else seems way out of reach (even if it's only 15 minutes away!) Even worse for Whistler... very small and centralised".

What about other venues outside of London, what are your thoughts on them?
Yols: "They will be busy, but not nearly as much as London. When people visit England they seem to concentrate on London. Always. Unless they are Shakespeare, Beatles or Football fans! But mostly they stay in London, I think they will go see an event and go back to London as soon as they can".

And for you, how was it being part of the organisation in charge of the official shop?
Andrew: "It was an incredible experience. It was incredibly busy, and not that much for visitors, the store was located outside the downtown area. In the time leading up to the games merchandise was selling incredibly fast. The company to be fair, could have had more product ready! We sold out of quite a few things".

Any words of advice?
Andrew: "I think the three of us will really agree on just one thing... Be ready! Think, plan and don't wait until the last minute".
Yols: "Definitely. Have a little bit more stock than you think you need!"
Andrew: "Absolutely. Fortunately Bubble Tea is not a themed product. It is not branded with games logos or anything like that, which means that if you have stock left over after the games you don't have to run crazy sales! Also, expiry dates on most products will be okay into September or much later, so take advantage of this! Some other industries don't have this luxury!"
Elizabeth: "And don't forget to take into consideration deliveries. It will be a nightmare trying to get anywhere! Order well in advance and order enough to last you until the end of August! That's really my advice."

Many thanks to you Andrew, Yols and Elizabeth, your interviews will definitely be helpful to us!
Andrew: "Good luck to you all! And don't forget to have lots of fun, enjoy it you may never see this event in your hometown again!"

Interview Highlights of Advice:

- Plan ahead.
- Don't be disappointed and order enough to last you until the end of August.
- Expect the unexpected but don't expect too much, specially if you are outside venue areas.

ORDER BY 20 JULY!
*expect disruptions 24 July - 14 August
*some additional charges may apply to deliveries
*next day delivery will not be available
*check your local council for closures/loading times as these may need to take place either very early or very late.

Come on Boys!

It's official, European Football fever has begun!
How can your business profit from this? Some businesses are lucky enough to have space to have screens, but if you don't you can try other ways to make sure your shop reminds everyone about the amazing tournament and how important it is to be a part of it.
Try making a Football inspired Bubble Tea. Our choice is Almond Slushy Bubble Tea with Tapioca Pearls. It's a bit different from your traditional ones, in our research we have found that Almond is a very unique and interesting flavour. Most businesses offer very similar options (like strawberry, passion fruit and mango!), so stand on your own and be creative!
The black and white colours will remind people of traditional Football Balls. If you want to be even more adventurous try making a Coconut/Almond Bubble Tea! It is growing in popularity in certain countries and it is something completely unique!
Other ideas? Why not try two toppings? Caramel Agar and Almond Pudding go together amazingly!
Don't follow the norm, lead the crowd and give your customers a reason to come back time and time again!
Good luck to your team!!! Here's crossing our fingers that they win!

A great summer ahead

Whether you are a part of Britain, or you are a mainland European country, truth is, the eyes of the World will be on us.

Here in the UK, it all starts a couple of days before the Euros, with the great celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Whether you are a royalist or not, this event will bring a good vibe throughout Britain. It's a great time to push forward ideas, to come together as a community and to foster a sense of future for all of us living here.

Arguably, however, the great summer will begin with UEFA's 2012 Euros. The Euros will officially give the kick off to a great European summer, where nations will face each other in competitive matches and friendly banter. We will all stand behind our countries hoping to become #1. The Ukraine and Poland will be at the centre of it all, but each and every one of the nations involved will be talked about at some point or another in every corner of the World.

When all of the excitement calms down, London's time to shine will arrive. Athletes from every continent will compete and champions will be named. But it's more than just sport that generates the great spirit of the Olympics. Starting with the Torch Relay, Cultural Olympiad, events throughout will lift the spirits of us all. London will be the centre of attention, but, Europe as a whole will be the focus of many eyes around the World.

2012 is going to be one of those years that everybody will remember and we'll look back on it and think "Where was I?" "oh... I was doing this, or that!" We will tell our children and our grandchildren about it and they will listen attentively as we tell them the great stories of our past.

The question then is, what will your story be? What do you want to tell your grandchildren? Where does Bubble Tea House Company fit into this?

Bubble Tea can provide you with the unique opportunity of starting your own business, of changing your life and of joining the select group of those that will be at the forefront of it all, creating the rules by which others will play. The best bit? You don't have to do it alone, and you don't have to start from scratch. We are here for you, to help you on your path. We have the know hows, the tools and a wide product range to support you. We will teach you everything you need to know to have delicious Bubble Tea drinks as well as a forward thinking Store Concept.

What are you waiting for?

Bubble Tea Training: do I need to?

Can you teach me how to make Bubble Tea?

The question is simple, but the answer is not. Not for us anyway.
Other companies will give you recipes and the basic know hows and claim that that is all you need. While in some cases this is true, the majority of times this is not quite enough.
You need more. You need the written knowledge, the little tricks, and a lot more guidance.

BUT WHY?!
Well, the answer to that is easy. You need to think about what you are trying to achieve.

Cooking at home with a book is straightforward. All you really worry about is making your family happy. That's it. You buy the ingredients, follow the instructions, hope for the best, if they like it, great! You can make it again. If they don't? No problem, you don't do it again. No harm done! (except maybe a very unhappy child that refuses to eat and forces you to take them to Micky D's!)

But we are talking about your business here. You have many tastes to cater to. Age groups, nationalities, backgrounds and preferences. You need to get it right, because if you don't, you will not make money. Pretty scary isn't it?

But it doesn't need to be. That's why we are here!

We have had a passion for Bubble Tea for over a decade and enough experience in the food industry, both in the fast food environment and in award winning restaurants to understand what you need and how you can make the most of your business.

So, don't be fooled by easy and cheap know hows! We can help you through the various essential stages until you feel confident and ready to make your own menu decisions not only as you start but as your business evolves and grows, hopefully even into franchises!

Don't wait another minute and contact us to get started on your future!
And remember, a recipe for success is made up of a lot more than just a few cooking steps.
